High quality spindles in 4 weights. These have a nice lacquered finish, sturdy hook, and a good, wide groove for the yarn to sit in. Maybe choose a heavier one for starting out; the lighter ones are great for thinner yarns, and the heavier ones are good for thicker yarns and plying.
