Palouse Yarn Co Mazama

Our current bespoke yarn!  Sourced from two woman owned ranches in Montana, spun at Mountain Meadow Wool of Wyoming.  Designed to be the ultimate sweater yarn.  Beautiful undyed skeins of natural grey and rich hand dyed colors.

Named for the very visible geologic layer found across the northwest, formed when supervolcano Mount Mazama erupted 7700 years ago, with Crater Lake forming in its wake.

2024 edition, now shipping!

Mazama is sport weight, and it is a beautiful worsted spun 3 ply with a nice tight twist.  It was designed as the best sweater yarn you've ever seen, to be soft yet durable, bouncy yet full of memory, to give outstanding stitch definition  in cables, lace, and gansey patterns.

Make a super soft hat, some favorite mitts, or delve in deeper for an heirloom quality sweater.
