Peace Fleece Worsted is one of Harrisville Designs awesome tweedy yarns, milled in New Hampshire.  The Peace Fleece line was originally started as a way to warm up relations between the US and USSR during the cold war, and has always sourced wool to foster social relations with underserved populations.

From Harrisville:

" We work to support pastoral communities that have been historically in conflict with the US.  Currently we are working with Navajo ranchers to offer fair market prices for the Rambouillet sheep wool raised by families in the Navajo Nation.  Our yarn is made of this wool blended with a domestic fine wool and mohair for strength.

We love what we do, and we hope you will too."

These are fat 100g skeins, with 200 yards each.  Twisted hank, wind before using.

Hand wash, dry flat.  This yarn blooms and changes with that first wash, and you won't be disappointed!

There are 2 blends in our collection, with just a slightly different ratio of mohair added-- a newer batch and an older one.  Both are lovely.  The newer one, most of our skeins, are:

75% Navajo Rambouillet & domestic Fine Wool/ 25% Mohair

Needles and gauge:  16 sts/4" on size 8 needles.
